One of the biggest expenses and most important part of travelling is the accommodation. And thanks to rental websites like Airbnb and HomeAway that have paved the way for the sharing economy, travelers now have a more affordable alternative when it comes to accommodation. However, although these rentals are great, most of them don’t offer the luxury that hotels provide like the concierge, room service, or resort like amenities.

The good news is, there are budget-friendly ways to stay at a luxurious hotel. Many of the nicest hotels out there have Loyalty Programs that offer their members numerous incentives like free room upgrade, or free overnight stays, or free breakfast buffet, among many other things. As a determined traveler, all there is to do is a little bit of time spent on research and inquiries. Many of these programs allow travelers to sign up without any prior purchase. In short, travelers can benefit just by simply signing up.

To learn more about these programs, the U.S. News & World Report released on Wednesday their annual ranking of the best hotel reward programs categorized by ease of earning and redeeming. U.S. news considered 17 loyalty programs of major hotel brands that have at least 50 US properties that allow travelers to enjoy the incentives they’re offering without any prerequisites. U.S. News & World Report also ranks the Best Resorts and Best All-Inclusive Resorts by using the hotel’s overall score, as determined by its class, its Guest Rating and its Awards & Recognition points.
